All FAQs

General

SFDC File Manager is a native Salesforce application available on the Salesforce AppExchange. It allows you to run reports on files, notes, and attachments linked to any Salesforce object, and mass-download them with a single click. It runs entirely within your Salesforce org — no external setup required.
SFDC File Manager is designed for Salesforce Administrators, Architects, and power users who need to manage large volumes of files and attachments across their Salesforce org. It is particularly useful for storage audits, compliance reviews, org migrations, and data quality projects.
SFDC File Manager is developed and maintained by RASPSYS LLP, a Salesforce-focused technology company based in Greater Noida, India. You can reach the team at admin@raspsys.com.

Data & Security

Yes, absolutely. SFDC File Manager is a 100% native Salesforce application. All your data, files, and configurations remain within your Salesforce org at all times. There are no external servers, no third-party data transfers, and no privacy risk.
No. SFDC File Manager does not connect to any external API, server, or third-party service. All processing happens within the Salesforce platform and respects the existing Salesforce security model.
Yes. Because SFDC File Manager is a native Salesforce app, it runs under the logged-in user's permissions. Users can only see and download files they have access to based on your org's sharing settings, profiles, and permission sets.

Features

Yes. You can run a report selecting Account as the object and choosing "Objects with Files" or "Objects without Files". The report shows all matching Account records with their associated file counts and names. You can also filter by industry, owner, or any other Account field.
Yes. Use the "Report on All Files" or "Report on All Attachments" option to get a full inventory of every file in your org, regardless of which object it's linked to. This is ideal for storage audits and compliance exercises.
Yes. When building or running a report, use the File Type filter to specify one or more file extensions (e.g., .pdf, .docx, .jpg). Only files matching the selected types will appear in the report and be included in downloads.
Yes. Any report configuration can be saved with a name and re-run at any time from the Saved Reports tab. Saved reports are stored as Salesforce records and can be shared with other users in your org based on your sharing settings.
Yes. After running a report, click "Export as CSV" to download the results as a spreadsheet. The CSV includes record names, file names, file sizes, file types, created/modified dates, and owner information.
Yes. SFDC File Manager includes dedicated tabs for Static Resources and Documents. You can browse, select, and bulk-download them. This is useful for org backups and metadata archiving.
Yes. When downloading from a record, you can choose to download files individually (each file saved separately) or as a single ZIP archive containing all selected files. ZIP is recommended for larger batches.
Yes. From within a record, select the files you want to remove using the checkboxes and click "Delete Selected". This permanently deletes the chosen files from Salesforce in one action — no need to delete them one by one.
Yes. Use the "Delete Link" option to unlink a file from a record. This removes the association between the file and the record without deleting the file itself — it remains accessible in Salesforce Files if it is linked to other records.

Installation

SFDC File Manager is compatible with Salesforce Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions. It requires Lightning Experience. Classic is not supported.
